Markéta Šonková is a former editor-in-chief of Re:Views and currently serves on the board as a Senior Editor. She is a graduate of both BA and MA programs in English Language and Literature at DEAS, and also holds an MA in International Relations from the Faculty of Social Studies, MU. In the course of her studies, Markéta participated in a semester-long Erasmus exchange at Keele University, UK, summer school at University College Cork, Ireland, Robinson-Martin Security Scholars Program at Prague Security Studies Institute, and international security-oriented summer schools in the Czech Republic. She is interested in homeland and international security, namely in connection to terrorism, counter-terrorism, radicalism, and extremism, American domestic as well as foreign policy, US-Israeli relations, and women in politics. Markéta previously cooperated on several projects at Masaryk University, worked as a PR coordinator for the Prague-based think-tank Association for International Affairs (AMO), externally for OSCE on a temporary position, and did a traineeship at the European Commission in Brussels at the Terrorism and Radicalisation unit of DG HOME, where she also briefly worked as a Policy Assistant. She currently holds a post of a Senior Ministerial Counsellor at the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. She contributes to Re:Views in her personal capacity.
